江戸東京たてもの園のご案内/Guide to the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum

梅雨が明け、東京の本格的な夏の訪れを感じさせる多くの蝉の鳴き声が街路樹から聞こえてくる今日この頃ですが、まさに蝉時雨ですね。
そんな本日は最寄り駅の新宿駅から中央線１本で約35分で行ける
「江戸東京たてもの園」をご案内いたします。
園内には日本の伝統的な建築物が多く移築・復元されており、その当時の日本人の暮らしぶりを感じる事ができます。
センターゾーン・西ゾーン・東ゾーンが分かれており、今回は東ゾーンの江戸時代から昭和初期頃の建物を見学いたしました。
園内はまるでタイムスリップをしたかのような錯覚に陥るフォトジェニックな空間となっており、どこを切り取っても素敵な写真が撮れます。
そして園内にはお食事処が２ヵ所あり、今回は武蔵野の伝統を味わう事ができる、手打ちうどんのお店「蔵」でとても美味しい冷やしうどんを堪能いたしました。
またこちらの建物の１階は休憩所となっており、夏にお越しの場合にはこちらで涼む事ができます。
「日傘」や「うちわ」の無料貸し出しがありましたが、夏にお越しの際には十分に熱中症対策を行い、無理せずに充分な水分摂取と休憩を取る様にしてください。
東京の暑い夏ですが、蝉時雨の青空に映える景色は、この夏の素敵な思い出になりました。

The rainy season has ended, and the chorus of cicadas—a true sign that full-blown summer has arrived in Tokyo—can now be heard from the roadside trees.
Today, I would like to introduce the “Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum,” which is accessible from our nearest station, Shinjuku Station, via a single train ride on the Chuo Line (taking about 35 minutes).
The park features numerous relocated and restored traditional Japanese buildings, allowing visitors to experience what life was like for Japanese people in those eras.
The park is divided into Center, West, and East Zones; this time, I explored the East Zone, which houses buildings dating from the Edo period through the early Showa period.
The park offers a photogenic atmosphere that makes you feel as though you have stepped back in time; every angle offers a chance to take a wonderful photo.
There are two dining spots within the park. I enjoyed some delicious chilled udon noodles at “Kura,” a shop serving handmade udon that captures the traditional flavors of the Musashino region.
The ground floor of this building serves as a rest area, providing a cool place to relax if you visit during the summer.
They offer free rentals of parasols and traditional hand fans, but please be sure to take thorough precautions against heatstroke—stay hydrated and rest frequently without overexerting yourself.
Although Tokyo summers are hot, the scenery set against the blue sky and the chorus of cicadas made for a wonderful summer memory.
I highly recommend paying a visit yourself!
