今が見頃 初夏の東京観光で行きたい「旧古河庭園と洋館」 Early Summer in Tokyo: Kyu-Furukawa Gardens & Retro Mansion
都心では春の桜も通り過ぎ、季節は夏へ向けて移り変わっていますね
今月は、本格的な暑さが来る前の爽やかなお出かけにぴったりな「旧古河庭園」をご紹介します
新宿からは電車で30分ほど（JR山手線で駒込駅へ、そこから徒歩約7分）。
門をくぐると石造りの重厚な洋館と色とりどりのバラの組み合わせは、まるで海外に迷い込んだような美しさです。
少しだけ歴史とお庭のお話を…
実はここ、大正時代の面影をそのままに残す、歴史的にもとっても貴重な場所として知られています。
「洋」の巨匠：ジョサイア・コンドル 美しい洋館と、階段状に広がる洋風庭園を設計したのは、あの「鹿鳴館」を手がけた人物です。
「和」の巨匠：小川治兵衛（おがわじへえ） そして、洋風庭園の奥に広がる深緑の
日本庭園は、京都の数々の名庭を造った天才造園家によるもの。
特に5月は「春のバラフェスティバル」が開催され、約100種490株もの贅沢なバラが咲き誇ります。
洋館とバラを堪能したあとに、お隣の日本庭園で「心字池（しんじいけ）」を眺めながら新緑の涼を涼む……
そんな「和」と「洋」の唯一無二の世界観を一度に体感できるのが、この庭園最大の魅力です

歴史ある建物と繊細なバラのコントラストは、どこを切り取っても絵になります。
特に、バラ園の少し低い位置から洋館を見上げるようにして、手前にバラを大きく映し出すと、奥行きのあるロマンチックな写真が撮れるのでおすすめです

In May, about 100 varieties and 490 rose bushes come into full bloom.
