白山神社ー紫陽花祭り Hydrangea Heaven at Hakusan Shrine
今回ご紹介するのは、文京区にある「白山神社（はくさんじんじゃ）」です
都心では春から初夏へ、季節がゆっくりとバトンを繋いでいます。
本格的な夏を告げる梅雨の時期、白山神社には多くの紫陽花が咲き誇ります。
まるで都会の喧騒を静かに鎮めるように佇むその姿に、思わず足を止めてレンズを向けました。
雨の季節ならではの、しっとりとした情緒をお届けします。
「歯」を大切にする神様？
白山神社は、古くから「歯痛平癒（歯の痛みを和らげる）」
歯にご利益がある神社として信仰されてきました
なぜ「歯」の神様なのかというと……
昔の人々の間で、白山（はくさん）という名前が「歯（は）の苦（く）しみが散（さん）ずる
歯苦散（はくさん）」という、お守りのような語呂合わせで親しまれたからだと言われています。
明治時代には、参拝に訪れた人々に当時の歯ブラシである「房楊枝（ふさようじ）」を授けていた歴史もあり、
境内には役目を終えた歯ブラシを納める場所があるんです。

6月のメインイベント！「紫陽花まつり」
そんな白山神社が、1年で最も華やかに彩られるのが6月です！
本年度は 6月14日（日）まで毎年大人気の「文京あじさいまつり」が開催されます。
境内から隣接する公園にかけて、なんと約3,000株もの色鮮やかな紫陽花が咲き誇ります。

A Shrine for… Your Teeth?! Did you know Hakusan Shrine has long been worshipped as a guardian for dental health and relieving toothaches?
Why teeth, you ask?
It comes from a clever Japanese wordplay! The shrine’s name, “Hakusan,” sounds just like “Ha (Teeth) – Ku (Suffering) – San (Scatter)”—meaning “letting tooth pain scatter away!”
Back in the Meiji period, the shrine even gave out traditional wooden toothbrushes called fusa-yoji to pilgrims.
Today, there’s a special spot on the grounds where people return their old toothbrushes. Why not visit and pray for your healthy smile?
June’s Main Event: The Hydrangea Festival!
June is when Hakusan Shrine truly comes alive!
Until the 14th of June, the annual Bunkyo Hydrangea Festival will be held.
Around 3,000 vibrant hydrangeas bloom beautifully across the shrine grounds and the neighboring park. It’s an absolute dream for photo lovers!
